MCBP offers teachers, educators, and community leaders the opportunity to become more fluent in Coastal Bays ecology and issues, and to learn how to create transformative student-centered outdoor experiences. Through various hands-on workshops, MCBP staff and partners will expose educators directly to nature, encouraging curiosity and scientific inquiry, and provide resources to bring those learning tools back to their students.
Workshops and training topics differ from year to year, but could include: Project WILD, Project WILD Aquatic, Project Learning Tree, Project WET, Exploring the Coastal Bays, and many more. Workshops and trainings also cover all corporate STEM activities, NGSS standards, and the Learning Cycle. Partnering organizations for workshops include the Worcester County Public School system, Maryland State Park, MD Association of Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE), MD Department of Natural Resources, and the Ward Museum.
When workshops and trainings are offered, they will be posted to the MCBP calendar. If you have any questions, or wish to request a training, please reach out to Education Coordinator, Liz Wist, at lwist@mdcoastalbays.org.
