Shoreline planting at this site has pro-vided work for local volunteers, creating support for MCBP. Coastal Stewards also contribute to restoration.

Size: 517 acres, 740 feet of shoreline restored

MCBP Initial Cost: $5,000 - Grant for shoreline.

Total Cost: $55,000 (DNR $50,000, MCBP yearly cost $0)

Partners: Worcester County (Owner), Department of Natural Resources

MCBP Role: Funding, Shoreline restoration, Monitoring, Volunteer recruitment

Public Use: Future use as a Worcester Co. Park, Current use limited to supervised volunteers.

Purpose/Benefit: Public access, Habitat restoration

The Future: While this property progresses towards becoming a Worcester County Park, MCBP will continue with habitat restoration and monitoring. Many potential uses and projects are being considered for the site, including: kayak launch, environmental education center, student research center, rain gardens, shoreline fishing, trails, demonstration projects, etc. MCBP helped secure the funding to make these future options possible.

Objective: Assist Worcester County with development of property for public use. Assist DNR with shoreline habitat restoration

Public Use Impact: The property will eventually be a nature park with public access. With a house on site possibilities for an education/research/visitor center exist. A soft boat launch could also be installed.
