Thanks to funding from Maryland’s Whole Watershed Program, we are implementing comprehensive, nature-based solutions:
- Stormwater & Streams: Managing runoff through nature-based stream and wetland restoration, including specific projects on Ayres and Trappe Creek, Bottle Branch, Hudson Branch and Kitts Branch.
- Hudson Branch Stream Restoration: A 1,1917 linear foot section of Hudson Branch will be re-configured to a more natural, winding shape with improved floodplain connection. Construction is expected in the winter of 2026/2027. Review the presentation from a public meeting held April 29, 2026.
- Infrastructure: Reducing wastewater pollution by connecting septic systems to public sewers.
- Coastal Resilience: Building stronger shorelines through targeted marsh restoration.
