Nature Journaling:
Nature journaling is a priceless tool for observation, questioning, and for documenting curiosity. At some point in our lives, we all engage in journaling. Maybe that takes the form of a diary, memory book, or simply just taking notes. When we journal, we preserve thoughts, inquires, and memories. But one of the most beneficial things to come out of journaling is the gift of slowing down. As humans, we are constantly exploring, and all that exploration starts with observation and questioning. Field, or nature journaling allows us to cultivate curiosity, focus attention, and gives space of reflection on those amazing observations. In this video, we encourage you to join MCBP Education Coordinator, Liz Wist, as she embarks on one of her favorite activities, nature journaling! Participants will be lead through a series of tools and tips to use field journaling as a practice in exploration. They will also be introduced to a variety of journaling activities they can conduct right in their backyards. Nature journaling is for all ages. Happy journaling!

iNaturalist:
iNaturalist is a long-term biodiversity study that is fueled by citizen science data. Simply, that means that ANYONE can submit a photo observation of a plant or animal to the database, and that helps scientists track and monitor species. MCBP has started their own project on iNaturalist. This project is open to anyone to join, and it allows our organization to build an inventory of Coastal Bays species! If you are under 13, you need guardian permission.
